In the midst of a global pandemic, our journey with this captivating home began - a true testament to the unyielding spirit of design. Not only did we face the intricate task of crafting a dream home, but we embarked on this adventure with a couple hailing from afar. Through unwavering collaboration, exceptional communication, and boundless design potential, we persevered to create a space that resonates deeply with the homeowners. It's a reminder that the road to perfection is rarely a straight line; sometimes, the long way is the right way.
A Waterside Marvel in Kingsville, Ontario
Nestled on the picturesque shores of Kingsville, Ontario, this stunning property beckoned us with the promise of renewal and expansion. However, what sets this locale apart is the intriguing twist - the coveted waterview stretches out from the front of the house, challenging convention. Armed with our meticulously prepared designs and animations, the clients joined us at our office (keeping a safe distance with masks) for the grand reveal. As the video played, the initial reaction left us in suspense - "play it again," one of the clients requested with an enigmatic expression. The second time around, tears of joy flowed, and we knew our design had struck a deeply emotional chord.
Elegance Meets Complexity
While the exterior exudes simplicity, the interior of this home weaves a tapestry of complexity. From the street, it presents a façade resembling a one-car garage, yet conceals space for two cars and storage for an additional one (thanks to a clever lift system). The front elevation boasts a double gable design, spanning two stories on one side and merging seamlessly with a spacious front porch.
The Master Suite with a View
The second story, an exclusive enclave reserved for the main bedroom suite, enjoys an unobstructed front-row seat to infinite lake views. Here, the decision to add a balcony was an intuitive one, but we went a step further and introduced an elevated reading nook. It's a private retreat where the homeowner can feel as though they're gently floating towards the lake, coffee in hand, and immersed in the pages of a good book.
From Renovation to Rebirth
When our design journey commenced, the project was envisioned as a major renovation. However, upon a thorough review by the preferred contractor, a compelling suggestion emerged - demolish the existing house and begin anew. Even with a blank canvas, the unwavering commitment to the original design remained resolute. This captivating home stands as a testament to the power of creative resilience, even in the face of adversity.
